After selecting “Search and Link” providers, they become "Trusted Organizations." When you publish new works, they will automatically be added to your ORCID profile by these providers.
When you submit articles for publication, if you provide your ORCID ID number on submission forms, the publisher becomes another “Trusted Party”. You grant permission for them to automatically add your new articles to your ORCID profile. Most major publishers support this feature. IEEE, Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, Sage all automatically send author articles to ORCID. Indexes including the Arxiv preprint service and Web of Science can also be trusted parties updating your new articles.
In the "Trusted Parties" section of your ORCID profile, you'll find a "Trusted Individual" option at the bottom of the page. Here, you can enter the email address of another ORCID member whom you authorize to add or edit content on your ORCID profile, if you wish to delegate a Research Assistant or someone else to help keep your list of scholarly works up to date.
