ORCID for Faculty

This guide offers information and guidance on ORCID and its benefits for faculty members.

More Ways to Add New Publications to Your ORCID List

ArXiv pre-print database: The ArXiv pre-print database can add your new articles to your ORCID list. When you login to submit pre-print articles to ArXiv scientific pre-print, you will see the following message encouraging you to associate your arXiv account with your ORID ID: Follow the “confirm your ORCID iD” link to authorize ArXiv to add your new articles to ORCID.

Web of Science: The Web of Science database can add your new articles to your ORCID list. You must first create a free Web Of Science account and Researcher Profile. From the Web of Science homepage, click the “Register” link in the top right corner of the page. Complete the form to create a free account profile.

Once you have signed into your Web of Science account and created an author profile, you can go to "Profile Settings" (located in the top right corner of Web of Science screen) and select the “ORCID Syncing” option. Follow the steps to authorize Web of Science as a trusted organization to automatically update your ORCID profile with new works.
