ORCID for Faculty

This guide offers information and guidance on ORCID and its benefits for faculty members.

Export and Import ORCID Lists Using BibTeX

Lists of scholarly works can be imported into ORCID. To add records to ORCID, the files must be in the BibTeX (.bib) file format. In the "Works" section, click the "Add" button and select "Add BibTeX."

Lists of works can also be exported from ORCID to update other applications such as Canadian Tri-agency CCV or Google Scholar. Google Scholar, LinkedIn, and most library databases have citation export as a feature. Lists of authors' articles can be exported in BibTeX file format, then imported into ORCID in the "Works" section. Click the "Actions" dropdown to “Export ALL” or “Export Selected” records to a BibTeX file.
